TRAVERTINE:

Travertine flooring is very much related to limestone (think of them as cousins!) and is one of the most popular stone surface finishes around at the moment. A large majority of this popularity stems from the remarkable shades and colors that travertine floors are available in - the colors range from sandy coffee hues to a lighter oatmeal color. The colors are rarely uniform and often contain flecks and spatters of other shades.

Our travertine is selected for consistency, beauty and quality.  We import  travertine tiles, slabs, bowls, and medallions.  Finishes include: honed & filled, tumbled, unfilled, antiqued, chisel edge, pillow edge and polished.

We import directly, saving you money.
While we specialize in unique travertine, we also import and stock the more traditional light, medium and dark travertine in 12", 16", 18" and now 24"!  Call now for availability and pricing.

Slate:

Slate is a fine-grained, homogeneous, metamorphic rock which was derived from an original sedimentary rock composed of clay or volcanic ash through low grade regional metamorphism. The result is a foliated rock in which the foliation may not correspond to the original sedimentary layering.

Slate is mainly composed of quartz and muscovite or illite, often along with biotite, chlorite, hematite, and pyrite along with, less frequently, apatite, graphite, kaolin, magnetite, tourmaline, or zircon.

Slate can be made into roofing slates (sometimes called 'roofing shingles' in the United States), because it has two lines of breakability: cleavage and grain. This makes it possible to split slate into thin sheets. Fine slate can also be used as a whetstone to hone knives.

Marble:

Marble is a metamorphic rock resulting from the metamorphism of limestone, composed mostly of calcite (a crystalline form of calcium carbonate, CaCO3). It is extensively used for sculpture, as a building material, and in many other applications.

Faux marble or faux marbling is a wall painting technique that imitates the color patterns of real marble (not to be confused with paper marbling). Marble dust can be combined with cement or synthetic resins to make reconstituted or cultured marble.

Granite:

Granite has been used as a building material since ancient times. It is one of the oldest and most durable building products available, and will far outlast the building in which it's installed. It has become the material of choice for today's luxury homes and offices because of its enduring beauty, and because no synthetic material can yet compare to its elegance and performance.

Products made of this stone will not depreciate with time and will continuously add value to any property where they are installed. Unlike synthetics, granite presents a surface depth that seems almost three-dimensional. It has a luminance that's absent from other surfaces. Regardless of its finish, granite creates an immediate impression of elegance, and is considered a definite plus on any real estate broker's checklist.

Granite is sold both in tiles and slabs, and is frequently used not only for kitchen countertops, bar tops, and vanities, but also for walls, floors, fireplace surrounds, windowsills, and even building fascia. Its unique variations in color and veining turns make each specimen a natural work of art. It is cool to the touch, and presents an image of classic grace and beauty.
